A lot of effort has gone into making the clinic a Covid-secure environment, one which is as safe and risk free as is possible, one in which if you decide to come for treatment you can be at ease in, and one in which we can do our jobs in full confidence that we are keeping ourselves and our patients safe. Some of the changes are as follows:
We have made alterations so that you will be able to maintain 2 metre social distancing whilst you are at the clinic, apart from the duration of the treatment itself. So for example, appointments will be spaced out more, so that you will not bump into the patient who had the appointment before yours, or the one who is coming after you. You will not find yourself sitting in the waiting room next to another patient. Spacing out appointments more also allows us to thoroughly clean treatment rooms after each patient, as well as other areas in the clinic and in particular things like door knobs which patients may have touched.
For new patients, we will be suggesting that we reduce the amount of time you spend in the clinic by carrying out some of the initial consultation by phone or e-mail prior to your appointment. So whereas prior to the pandemic you would be spending up to 90 minutes in the clinic, we will be reducing that to something like 60 minutes or less.
In accordance with government guidelines, as of June 2022, staff at the clinic will no longer be wearing fluid resistant surgical masks as a matter of course, and we will now not not be requiring patients to wear a mask. We may still wear masks in certain circumstances in the treatment room, for example with patients who have weakened immune systems. If you will feel more comfortable being treated by someone who is wearing a mask, we will be more then happy to oblige. We will still be asking you to sanitise your hands immediately on arrival at a specially set up hand sanitising station in the entrance hall.
We will of course be doing our best to make sure that people who have Covid-19, or who have symptoms suggestive of Covid-19, or who have recently been in close contact with someone who has Covid-19, do not attend the clinic whilst they are a potential risk to others. So if you phone up to make a booking, please be prepared to be asked a few questions about any symptoms you may have.
If you want to know more detail about how we are protecting our patients, or have specific concerns, please feel free to get in touch.
